The River North area is an entertainment hub, full of incredible restaurants and swanky bars. It also borders the ‘Magnificent Mile’, Chicago’s most famous shopping district where you’ll find some of the city’s most iconic architectural landmarks. The Wicker Park neighbourhood is where Chicago’s cool kids hang out thanks to an influx of coffee shops, brunch spots, record stores and vintage boutiques. Chicago is home to the USA’s second largest public transport system, so getting around is a breeze. The L Train serves 144 stations, and for anywhere it doesn’t cover there are over 100 bus routes operating in the city. If you’ll be exploring the city lots, the best value option is to grab a 24-hour unlimited transit ticket for $10. Chicago O’Hare, the city’s main airport, is located 15 miles from Downtown. A train runs regularly 24 hours a day from O’Hare Blue Line Station to the city centre, taking around 45 minutes and costing $5.
